The push press is an effective way to get weight overhead, but it all starts in the dip. In an ideal dip, the torso stays vertical and your weight stays in the middle of your foot (just like Kim in the first photo). This creates the most advantageous position to drive up from and keeps the weight balanced (just like Kim in the second photo).
