Last Friday I welcomed an aunt and niece to the studio for a private metal embossed monogram workshop.
I took them both through creating a sample piece of metal embossing, to get them used to using the tools and materials. I then took them through creating their monogram designs on paper, before transferring them to the metal and embossing their pieces.
...Yesterday’s private studio workshop was a full house of five people, who all came along to make some decorative coasters. I loved the designs they brought along to recreate in metal, with their pets and other animals making an appearance. They also used some of my nature and Celtic knotwork templates. Two fabulous drypoint prints made from recycled TetraPak cartons, made on my studio workshop yesterday. It was a really lovely afternoon, with lots of creativity going on. Both students brought along an image to work from and added lots of texture and detail to their prints. Fabulous work by both of you!
