Image Comics has already published a few stellar new series so far in 2026. In this post, we take a look at five new titles that have made big impressions, selling out their debut issues.

Whether you’re an epic fantasy fan, you prefer horror, or something else entirely, Image Comics has you covered. So far in 2026, the publisher has debuted several excellent new standout series.

In this article, we’re spotlighting five new series that made instant impressions, selling out completely at the distributor level ahead of their debuts. All of these titles were rushed back to print thanks to huge demand.

Narco

I Was a Fashion School Serial Killer creatives Doug Wagner and Daniel Hillyard’s new series Narco was an instant success on release, with issue #1 selling out completely at distributor level. In Narco, Marcus Wesphal blacks out from the slightest surge of excitement, a narcoleptic curse that’s kept him quiet, calm, and locked away at home. But when he witnesses the girl next door’s murder and collapses, he wakes to find himself the prime suspect. Now Marcus has one chance to clear his name: outrun his failing body, reconstruct the moments he lost, and hunt a killer before he blacks out again… possibly for good.

“I can’t believe that Narco is going for a second print run,” said Hillyard. “I tried to think of clever pun about passing out, but came up blank.”

Wagner added: “Seeing Narco #1 sell out this fast caught us off guard in the best possible way. I’m still trying to process it. I can’t express fully how incredibly grateful I am to the retailers and readers for taking a chance on us.”

Death Fight Forever

In Death Fight Forever, super-thief bruiser brothers, Crash and Bash Biggle, jump into action to help Commander Thunderfang fight inter-dimensional crime boss, Lord Slyther. But a run-in with Marla Mendoza, leader of the COPZ gang and Slyther’s most formidable loyalist, changes the course of Bash’s life forever.

The series comes from Head Lopper creator Andrew MacLean and gonzo artist Alexis Ziritt (Space Riders).

“I’m so thrilled that people are loving Death Fight Forever! It started as this funny little love letter to old video games, then it became a nightmarish mountain of manual labor, and finally, like Frankenstein’s monster, it broke free of its shackles and was unleashed on the world in all its manic glory,” said MacLean. “Only time will tell if it’s for good or for evil.”

D’ORC

Undoubtedly the standout fantasy comic so far this year, writer and illustrator Brett Bean debuted D’ORC to massive success. It offers a little of everything, from deadpan humor, to exquisite world-building. We loved it so much that we even interviewed Bean himself, which you can read here.

Armed with nothing but a wisecracking enchanted shield and a crippling need for friendship, a lonely orphan stumbles headfirst into Sunderaine’s never-ending war. Light vs. Dark. Elves vs. Orcs. Wizards vs. Common Sense. Dragons vs. Literally Everyone. And caught dead-center? D’orc.

Half dwarf, half orc, and wholly inconvenient to a doomsday prophecy, D’orc’s fated to end the world. Soon, every human, elf, goblin, dwarf, Snargletooth, Necroid, Ice Giant, Trauma Llama, and at least three other unpronounceable magical creatures will know his name. Unfortunately, so will his enemies.

White Sky

Perfect for fans of The Last of Us, The Walking Dead, and The Road, new series White Sky tells a post-apocalyptic story where ghosts haunt every corner of the world. The series is created by critically-acclaimed comic book and video game writer William Harms (two-time BAFTA nominated Mafia III, International Horror Guild Award finalist Impaler), fan-favorite artist JP Mavinga, and colorist Lee Loughridge (Standstill)

In White Sky, five years ago, the sky went white and the world ended. Now Violet and her father, David, are driven from hiding and forced to cross what’s left of America toward the shattered ruins of San Francisco, chasing a rumor of refuge. But in a land haunted by the dead, nowhere is safe for the living
