Australian Style

More than a decade ago when we first started to capture the street style looks of people attending the fashion festivals around the country, there were very few doing the same. At some festivals we were the only street style photographers present.These days, the entrances to some of the best fashion runways in the country are awash with almost as many photographers as attendees. They’re there if you want to be spotted, invisible if you don’t. The main difference these days is that more people are ready to be photographed, who turn up ready to be snapped in their own authentic style and fashion choices and who twirl without us having to coax them into it. They’ll strut from one invisible spot on the concrete slabbed floor to another, just long enough for us to capture a moment that will have them looking like they just stepped out of a fashion magazine. Authentic Australian style at its best.

Our point of difference has always been diversity. Though truthfully, we’re a bit tired of hearing that word floating around like froth pouring out of a kid’s bubble wand. But it’s still the thing that gets us out of bed in the morning, to make sure that those the mainstream media have always overlooked, are seen.

We’re most interested in the authentic style of those who put their own outfits together, who pay for their own stuff, who are not paid to be seen in designer gear. But no-one is off-limits. If it turns our photographers’ heads, it should be seen!
