Another recent find was this lovely old photographic postcard showing a mother with four children and a pony and trap – the photograph was taken by Boydes Studios who had locations in the Strand in London, Southend on Sea in Essex and Great Yarmouth in Norfolk, The only clue written on the back was Mrs C DOBELE and family.

When I am looking for old postcards and photographs to research I am always on the lookout for any World War 1 postcards that may have a regimental number as well as a name and regiment – one that I found a while ago, as below, was sent to Sgt B WATKINS number 11494 in France.

A recent find on eBay was this lovely old wedding photograph of a soldier marrying and on the back was written – Thomas BLOOMFIELD & Sophie Mary NEAL married 14th February 1916 – Royal Garrison Artillery. The photo had been sent to Bessie.

Another find at the Festival of Cards in Somerset in March was this lovely old photograph taken at a photographers in Stroud in Gloucestershire – written on the reverse it says Beryl Austen COLE aged 3 weeks born 11th May 1917
