The front brake looked good when i got the bike but there was goo in the master cylinder and it was just spongy. Tried to clean it out but the lines were just clogged. It took forever for the master cylinder to push out tbe brake pad. I have been modifying DOHC CB750/900/1000/1100 bikes starter clutches for a couple of years now. I have been working on a way to do the same to the SOHC starter clutches. I Believe that I have finally suceeded. I remove the old starter clutch. I turn the large gear's journal down so it fits the SPRAG GEAR (I provide) and eliminates any flat spots or imperfections on the journal....

Greeting. New guy. 72 K2 that is in incredible condition. Lots of bikes but this is the first vintage one in my garage.

Searched forums, need real world advice on the starter clutch I just replaced. Still knocking around a little so has anybody doubled springs, does it need a new stator, or there’s a guy I thought I saw who fits them with a slick sprag clutch.

Hi there,

This is a follow up post from my previous one on aluminum glitter in my oil.

Does anyone have thoughts on how much wear there is on this crank bearing saddle and what the cause could have been?

Worth noting i had the crank mic'd today and all mains and rod bearings are between 2-3 thou.
