Kürt Çalışmaları Merkezi’nin (KSC) yayımladığı eşitsizlik raporuna göre Van, 2017 yılında Türkiye genelinde 77’nci sırada yer alırken 2025’te 74’üncü sıraya yükseldi. Ancak kent, üç basamak ilerlemesine rağmen sosyo-ekonomik gelişmişlik bakımından en alt kademe olan 6’ncı gruptan çıkamadı.
