Do local guides in Australia expect a gratuity? Several years ago I offered a tip to a local guide after two excellent days of birding and I was told "We don't do that here." I am happy to offer a tip but I don't want to embarrass the guide (or myself).

This is at the ebird hotspot B4 @ the equator, rift valley, Kenya. My guide indicated little weaver - Im doubting this and leaning towards female Vitelline Masked Weaver. Who is right - or perhaps both of us are wrong? /Johan

Can anyone tell me the cost of this hide and how one arranges the visit and recommendations for places to stay nearby?

Arfak Mountains, West Papua – June 2027


I’m planning a trip to West Papua in June 2027 and am considering spending around 7 days in the Arfak Mountains, mainly to see some of the wonderful Birds-of-Paradise and other endemic species.

today was my first day with it. used it with the Zuiko 150-600 mm, when i made a trip to Jeddah river (its a water stream TBH). and used the OM3 with Zuiko 40-150 f2.8 + 1.4 TC for bird in flight.

too early to make a review, but i am so impressed with its straight out of the camera jpegs, like the one i post in the gallery.
