Rhymefest’s Blue Collar: A Forgotten Classic

Chicago’s Rhymefest made a really, really good albums back in the 00s.   He also made some great mixtapes from that era.  But he’s largely forgotten.

Meanwhile, Wale made ONE good mixtape and still has a record deal.

Respect Ya Elders! by Gee Bag

This album is excellent. Gee Bag is a UK MC who was around in the mid-2000s, took a break, and came back…Much better.  He’s witty, smart, and incredibly creative.

His older stuff is good, too, and he’s re-released a bunch of it for free or low-cost on Bandcamp here
