I have the Nikon Z8 and 180-600mm. When I go out to photograph, I usually try to be the first on the trails, starting the hike before sunrise. I tend to walk anywhere from 1 to 10 miles. I have been happy with the 180-600 as my first nikon lens (I shot Canon DSLRs before taking a big break and starting back up again) and for me the weight isnt too much. When shooting shorebirds,...

I spent the evening in the marsh with several muskrats. These little guys are hard to see and the Z8 did NOT want to focus on them at all. I ended up using manual focus 99% of the time. Not such an easy task when swimming erratically and the blind is bobbing and blowing around.
