As summer knitting season arrives, we are thrilled to welcome some beautiful NEW BASES to the shop from some of our favourite Canadian dyers!

We love supporting Canadian dyers and sharing their work with our community, and these three new additions are perfect examples of the incredible talent we have right here at home. So, whether you’re planning a lightweight summer tee, a breezy shawl, or an accessory you can enjoy all year round, these yarns were made for projects that feel as good as they look.

First up, we have a gorgeous new base from Bramble Ridge, hand dyed right here in British Columbia. Known for beautiful colourways inspired by Canadian landscapes, Bramble Ridge has created a yarn that combines the best of natural fibres with the perfect amount of summer ease.

Their Wool/Linen blend brings together 70% organic untreated wool and 30% linen in a fingering-weight yarn with incredible yardage and beautiful drape. While it has a lovely rustic feel in the skein, it softens beautifully with knitting and wear. The linen adds a gorgeous heathered effect throughout the fabric, making this a perfect choice for summer tees, lightweight sweaters, shawls and maybe even a poncho like the one Bea recently made that were all obsessed with.

Next up is Les Garçons Été, a yarn that perfectly captures the feeling of summer in Montréal.

Les Garçons are known for creating beautifully crafted yarns with thoughtful fibre blends, and Été (French for “summer”) is a celebration of warmer days, city streets coming alive and the joy of seasonal knitting.

This 3-ply sport-weight yarn combines Pima cotton, silk and linen to create a fabric that is soft, breathable and full of drape. The high-twist construction gives beautiful stitch definition, making it a fantastic choice for lace, cables, colourwork or simple everyday pieces.

We can already picture this one as the perfect summer top like the Etna Top by Nomad Stitches or the Umbria Summer Top by Cookie the Knitter
