Recently, I've had five occurrences of the left chuck on the headstock of my Cueman Deluxe lathe. In each case, the work I had in place was ruined. I have cleaned both sides of the threads thoroughly, and have tightened the chuck down with all the force that I can apply with one punch in both the left and right chucks.

Schon CX 65 wrapless with 5/16-14 joint. Ebony butt and forearm with highly figured Cocobolo handle. Fancy ringwork in 3 places. Shaft is 29 inches at 4.02 oz Butt is 29 inches. Butt rolls straight, shaft rolls fairly flat, can't say it's absolutely perfect but certainly would not affect playability. Very bottom 1.5 inch butt cap has minor clear coat hazing.
