Bartle Frere is Queensland's highest peak at 1622m. The track starts at about 50m asl, so it is all climb and a memorable one at that.
This was from 1200m early morning after camping over night. It was in the days of film and prints, and when cane fires burned.
Sadly the prints faded before they were digitised. It was an interesting project to try to make the colour...

This was taken yesterday evening, a calm scene soon after a wild storm with vv strong winds :eek:
The reason for the unbalanced tree is that it dropped a major branch cluster on one side some
time ago and the remaining branches had to be trimmed for weight balance.

This rainbow bee eater was perched way up high, not a good viewpoint but the bright late light helps compensate.
Oly 300mm prime lens with 1.4 converter, and a big crop. Sky as seen and shot and presented.
