Curious what you headphone fans think. Could you love a great headphone system more than a great room system or is the experience just too different. I will say I’m growing to appreciate headphones more but not sure I could give up the home stereo system.

Hi, All I am having a problem with my Mcintosh c2500 preamp. The left and right output level lights are on as well as all the bottom red led lights except for the mute. The display in the center does not light. The unit is frozen. The only way to turn it off is to unplug it. When I plug it in it automatically turns on. I have a Von Gaylord LAD-L2 preamp that I’ve been running brown-base 5692 tubes in and the combination has been exemplary, but the last matched set of tubes (purchased from a reputable tube reseller) lasted only about 7 months before beginning to produce an unacceptable noise level. Hi I received an order for a pair of Linlai KT88-D tubes and tested them on my tube tester and my B&K 747b tester showed no shorts and no emission leaks on both but the output test showed 65% on the first tube and 70% on the second. On the tester meter the bad ( red ) section goes from 0% to 55% and the question mark ( white) section goes from 55% to 70% and the good (green)...
