[I'm on Ubuntu 26.04.1 LTS] Currently the logo for the App Centre is not appearing on my Panel or in the "show apps" screen (sorry I don't know what it's called). When I select the icon from either it doesn't open. Earlier today I tried to open calibre and got this error:

Since this morning I can't log in to GNOME on Ubuntu 24.04. Right after entering my password I get "Oh no! Something has gone wrong" and I'm thrown back to the login screen. This happens on every attempt, Xorg and Wayland alike. Disabling extensions does not help.

The journal shows only this, about one second after login:

gnome-shell[...]: Failed to get met.no for...

There is an absolute plethora of posts and confusing info. Just looking at looking at 3d for a specific thing I have in mind

Just looking for views on a simple, easy to install and use software suite (not necessarily an all singing all dancing one)

Similarly, any views on entry level machines ... all just to play with a few ideas

since updating to Ubuntu 26.04.1 LTS, the scanner on my multifunction device has stopped working. The scanning software detects the "WSD Samsung M2885fw," but the scan fails to execute or gets aborted.

How can I resolve this issue and get scanning again? The scanner is connected via the network (using both cable and Wi-Fi).

I'm using Ubuntu 13.04 x64. I have installed Apache, php5.

I have configured two sites folders in the /etc/apache2/sites-available/default One is the in /home/me/www and the other is on the external disk let's say /media/me/www.

I think the problem is that /media is owned by root and all files had restrictive permissions, so I can only see my files in my comp...
