This fish came with a used 10gl aquarium I bought recently. Last fish swimming, going by the multitude of name labels on the tank. Must be hardy if they didn't kill him. The label that might apply is "Algae eater doctor fish" aka garra rufa. It seems to be the correct name for this survivor.

Hi, so I noticed this morning that my dwarf gourami has a white "stringy" looking thing that comes in and out of his mouth. He seems to be acting differently the last few days, not swimming as much or eating . Is this most likely a parasite? Everything I've read about parasites usually have the white string coming out of the Anas. Thank you for any help .
I was at Petsmart recently, and noticed that those rows of tanks do not have individual filters.
On the other hand, there appear to be 4 of 5 tubes in and/or above each tank.
Does anyone know how such system works?
I doubt that the Petsmart employee on duty would be able to explain the intricacies of their system.
