When Busyness Takes Over

Dear Rolling With Faith Friends,

I wanted to send a quick note to apologize for not getting a blog post out this week. Life got unexpectedly busy—including a trip to the emergency room! Thankfully, everything is okay, but between that and the usual demands of life, I wasn’t able to write as I had hoped.

This week reminded me that busyness isn’t a virtue—it’s actually something Jesus warns against. In Luke 10:41-42, Jesus tells Martha: “You are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.” It’s easy to fill our days with endless tasks, but Jesus invites us to focus on what truly matters—Him.

Corrie ten Boom once said, “If the devil cannot make us bad, he will make us busy.” And John Ortberg wrote, “For many of us, the great danger is not that we will renounce our faith, but that we will become so distracted and rushed and preoccupied that we will settle for a mediocre version of it.”

So, as I catch my breath and refocus, I appreciate your patience and support. Stay tuned for our upcoming blog post about our Wisconsin visit—I can’t wait to share it with you!

Blessings,

Brooke
