Happy New Year
Good Morning!
I don't know about you, but I tend to doubt New Year's Resolutions, as good intentions often wane with time. Old habits die hard and the stresses of life always seem to get in the way of our big transformation goals. Will power is great, but often times it's not enough. I have found that when I try and do things on my own I usually fail, but when I surrender my will to God, He always comes through. This is why I love the words from Lamentations 3:22-23 (ESV) " The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness."
Friends, rather than waiting for a new year to bring change, we have the opportunity every single morning. As Robert Brault wisely said, "Enjoy the little things in life because one day you'll look back and realize they were the big things." Let's focus on small daily changes instead of yearly ambitions. It's the small changes that will turn into the big life changes. Just make the next best decision-one day at a time.
Join me by hydrating before coffee, practicing morning meditation before picking up our phones, choosing nourishing meals with gratitude instead of over indulging, using kind words when critical ones come to mind, prioritizing alone time with God instead of watching TV, being present with others instead of scrolling. If stress and anxieties arise, lets be aware that we are focusing too much on ourselves and choose to serve someone else instead. If we stumble, lets give ourselves grace and have confidence in God's new morning mercies and simply try again the next day.
I am grateful for fresh beginnings. Let's kick off 2024 with gratitude by acknowledging and expressing thanks for everything- whether to God, others, or by writing it down.
Thank you for being part of my journey!
-Brooke
