UK court schedules 3rd hearing day for jurisdictional challenges to Tesla's 5G case by InterDigital & Avanci

ip fray has done a few short LinkedIn posts about the jurisdictional hearing in the UK concerning Tesla v. InterDigital & Avanci. The most recent post is the following one:

The jurisdictional challenges by InterDigital, Inc. and Avanci to Tesla's UK 5G complaint require a third day in court, but potentially not a long one. Mr Justice Fancourt scheduled the final part for 10 AM local time on Tuesday, June 4.

ip fray has so far followed the hearing and will do so on June 4. Given that the judge's reactions will presumably be most interesting toward the end of the hearing (when the defendants get to reply to Tesla's arguments), ip fray is presently inclined not to write an article about the hearing but to await that final and hopefully instructive part.

The hurdle for complaints to survive that kind of challenge in the UK is currently rather low, at least with respect to patent cases. But this case raises some serious jurisdictional issues, so it could be thrown out or at least narrowed with respect to claims and defendants.
