Today's SEP and UPC news (three items in total) and an update regarding subscriptions

1) Pressure mounting on truck maker PACCAR as Acer files SEP case in Eastern District of Texas after suing in UPC

Acer previously sued truck maker PACCAR in the UPC and is now asserting standard-essential patents in the Eastern District of Texas, too — where Longhorn sued before.

2) Meril concedes heart valve case to Edwards in UPC’s NBRD: court-enforceable settlement tantamount to third injunction

After getting nothing out of U.S. and little out of UK litigation, Edwards is having a winning streak against Meril in the UPC.

3) LinkedIn post: U.S. judge still less than lukewarm about Samsung's FRAND action against ZTE; German antitrust trial in February 2026

Judge Araceli Martínez-Olguín would consider it a waste of time right now to hold a case management conference in Samsung v. ZTE. Meanwhile, a spokesman for the Frankfurt Regional Court confirmed that Samsung's case (which overlaps with other FRAND actions) will go to trial in early February 2026. It appears that the Munich I Regional Court will not be influenced by the Frankfurt proceedings and simply order injunctions (presumably well before the Frankfurt court decides) if the requirements are met.
