Dusseldorf dethroned: Munich is now (based on the latest numbers published by Juve Patent) clearly the #1 patent litigation venue in Germany (and Europe) in the total of national courts and UPC divisions.

The Dusseldorf Regional Court had only 10% more filings last year than the Munich I Regional Court (237 vs. 215). Dusseldorf used to be far ahead in terms of the number of filings, though mostly because of a huge number of cases involving relatively small companies, with the profile of the average Munich or Mannheim case being higher. If the trend continues, it may soon just be the #2 German national court in terms of patent infringement filings, which would probably be a first in post-war German history.

Then, if one looks at the total of national courts and UPC divisions, Munich is already clearly ahead of everyone else.
