My Reading Life

This past month, I have been immersed in the R.I.P. (Readers Imbibing Peril) Challenge, which I love! It's now in its 17th year, and the idea is simply to read darker stuff in the fall (Sept & Oct). There are no sign-ups or requirements--just read dark books (mysteries, suspense, thrillers, supernatural, dark fantasy, Gothic, etc.) and post about it on social media! I'm also enjoying the Fall Into Reading Challenge, a book bingo. You can see my plans on my Fall Reading Video. We'll be going camping for a couple of days this week, and I can't wait to enjoy the fall weather and the extra reading time!

A Look Back

A year ago on my blog, I posted a review of The Book of Longings by Sue Monk Kidd. This book surprised me--in a good way! It's female-centric historical fiction set in the first century. Everyone in my book group loved this novel ... and that doesn't happen often! Check it out.
